Oulton Hall Mar 2010

  • I enjoyed my debut event. The other players i met were really nice and you feel welcome straight away which is great. Im glad i joined and i look forward to the next one in April. I just wish these tournaments were weekly instead of monthly. I do play every weekend at my golf club but your set up is much better plus its playing at different courses.

 

Belton Woods Feb 2010

  • Another very enjoyable event with the now expected good weather. Very well run as usual guys and great fun. Belton Woods was in very good condition considering the winter we have had and what a great turn out. Well done you deserve plenty of praise!

2009 Tour

  • I would just like to say how much I have enjoyed playing on the GTour this year and a lot of that enjoyment is down you guys that run it. So Colin,Simon and Darren thank you very much for putting together such a great series of events this year and for looking after us competitors so well.   • Having now attended several events some accompanied by my wife Lesley I can confirm that we have both enjoyed every aspect of whats on offer ; a good selection of venues throughout the country - very sociable helpfull and welcoming attitude of all involved from both Gtour personel and fellow players - a competitive game of golf strictly administered - and most of all very good value for money - David Gandy
  • This year i've had the pleasure of taking part in four gtour events.these events have been really well organised and from the moment you arrive at the course you are made to feel very welcome by the gtour team and the other competitors.the courses i've played on have been second to none and for £45 for a days golf or £99 for an overnight stopover and two rounds of golf i think it represents excellent value for money.my friends and i have met some great people on these events and now meet up regularly for a round with some of them. All handicappers are catered for and the stablford ensures that every player has a chance,even me.looking forward to 2010 and taking part in many more gtour events - Keith Kelly
  • I joined the G-Tour because the guys who run it want you to enjoy yourself and go out of their way to make it as professionally run as they can. The sponsorship and prizes are very good considering it is only £45 to play with bacon roll tea or coffee plus fruit and bottles of water available when you arrive. I have told other golfers at my club about G-Tour and they are keen to join next year. Keep up the good work lads - Jim Bishop - Essex
  • I joined the Gtour when i saw the advertisement through golfshake.com, i was excited about playing golf against other golf lovers. Not being a member of a club i dont get the chance to enter many competitions and this seemed like the perfect opportunity to test my own skills against other handicap players. The fact that Gtour are using the DeVere complexes is also another great plus, usually I wouldnt pay £30 plus for a round of golf but to get a competition entry and a round of golf at these courses is too good an offer to pass up. And now I find myself in the top 3 on the order of merit with a chance to actually win it on the final day, this has really fired me up for the Staverton Park, bring it on!!!! so to speak. Even if the tour stayed the same for next year i would re enter its events, not just because I have been doing well but because it is a fantastic day out for everyone and with the option of staying over and playing again the next day you can really make a good weekend of it. But i understand the tour is going to be bigger and better next year, fantastic, I cant waitfor the start of the season. Colin, Simon and the rest of the organisers do such a fantastic job, all you have to do is turn up, sign in and play golf.   • I Joined the GTour because I wanted to meet new people and have fun playing golf whilst getting my handicap down. When I first joined the GTour I didn’t know what to expect but after I played the first event, I loved it, I wanted to be part of the GTour for the year and now its coming to the last event, I can truly say that I’ve really enjoyed taking part in the GTour, it has helped me get my handicap down and I’ve made some great mates, The guys of GTour make you feel welcome and each event has been organised with perfection, great atmosphere, stunning scenery, good food & refreshments, overall GTour is a good golf tour to go on. I'd rather be a member of GTour then be a local member of the club, least that way you can play on different course – amazing courses, meet up with great people, shame there is only one event left this year, will miss everyone who plays on the GTour, Overall Great Team Work for the GTour Team thanks - Dan Atkins -
  • As I was keen to improve my standard of golf and play in a few more competitions when I heard about the Gtour I decided to play in the first event and see what it was like - and I'm glad I did, so much so that I have played in every event since! The tour is superbly organised, the staff are very friendly and make sure everything runs as planned - they've even made sure we've had good weather at every event.  The entry fee is good value for money, and the prizes on offer are definitley worth winning.  The Gtour website is also easy to use and provides excellent information on the tour, as well as other useful golfing need to knows. The choice of courses used on tour has been good, and the De Vere venues have excellent facilities.  Plus I highly recommend the overnight stays that can be arranged through Golf Breaks.  There are lots of regular players and all those I have played with have been good fun and friendly. Would I recommend the Gtour?  Without doubt, and I'm already looking forward to next year, and hopefully being up there challenging for a few more prizes! - Jon Harris (15 handicap) - Peterborough, Cambridgeshire
  • Having heard about the Gtour via the Golfshake.com website it certainly looked like a very good idea to me. A golf tour for amateur golfers of all ability's played at the weekend,so no losing valuable vacation time,this certainly appealed to me! Also a great selection of  quality golf courses to play at, courses I would not normally get a chance to play at during my normal golfing schedule.With the added incentive of top prizes from the Gtour sponsors and the order of merit this makes for a competitive edge as well a fun tour to be part of.
     
    From the very first event I have had the most enjoyable time on tour,even when my golf wasn't so good because everyone makes you feel so welcome.From the registration in the morning until the prize giving in the evening the Gtour guys are on hand to make everything run smoothly and this has made each event a joy to take part in.
     
    One aspect of the Gtour that I think is superb are the photographs taken during the day ,I've never had  pictures of myself playing golf before but I certainly have got loads of them now. I wouldn't know what a pro feels like on the 1st tee but I have a little insight into it now courtesy of the Gtour, fellow competitors standing around waiting for you to strike your ball and Simon clicking away taking action shots,great touch!
     
    The final event is fast approaching and the order of merit champion will be decided.It should make for a very exciting last round with so many guys still in with a shout.With the event competition as well its very fitting that we finish were the Gtour started back in April,lets hope the rain keeps away like it has done all year.

Staverton Park - November 2009

  • Just want to say thank you to Colin, Simon and Darren, I had another great day at Staverton, really good company in my group. I cant beleive I just missed out on winning the order of merit by one position at Staverton, I will rue the 2 footer I missed on the 16th for par. Congratulations to Shane on becoming 2009 Champion

Carden Park - October 2009

Slaley Hall - May 2009

  • I played in the comp yesterday at staley hall i must say what a fantastic day and course was amazing and the organising was fantastic
  • Just want to say what an amazing course it was and was lovely to play with all 3 of my playing partners, it was a hard course but loved it from the 1st tee to the 18th. The weather was fantastic and overall just a great day out. Thanks again to the GTour Team for making such a lovely day, love playing on the GTour and see you guys on the next event.

  • So far i've played in 2 events and i can say that i've fully enjoyed playing at 2 lovely courses, all people are friendly and make you welcome and are a great to play with, any one who isn't a member or hasn't play on this tour, join it, even tho i play off 28 i still have a good time.
